Book Review: The City Baker's Guide to Country Living
To be completely honest, I read this entire book in one weekend. Not only was it a super easy read, but it also had a warm, cozy vibe to it that I loved. So, I highly recommend The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living for a rainy day or chilly evening read—although you don’t have to wait for either of those to sit down a dive into this book.
Olivia Rawlings is a pastry chef in Boston. She’s sleeping with the boss, and she accidentally starts a fire with her flambéed dessert.
Immediately, she packs the car, grabs her dog and heads to the country to hide out with her best friend.
Somehow, Olivia ends up getting a job making pastries and desserts at a charming country inn. The only downside to Olivia’s job at the idyllic inn? The ornery old woman she has for a boss.
Olivia is the character you’ll root for while also wondering if she’ll ever truly get her life together.
I really enjoyed this feel-good novel. If you’re looking for a fun, light read, this is for you!
