Weekend Zen Routine for Writers
A long week can leave us feeling depleted, which may tug on our creative energy as well. I’ve found the best medicine for when I’m tapped out of energy and creativity is to show a bit more grace to myself, step away from my work or writing for a bit, move at a slower pace, and cut down on all the information trying to seep into my brain at every turn.
For me, an early, quiet morning on the porch with a cup of coffee—and the silence that comes from being awake before the world—is a good place to start. From there, I strive to get out in nature somehow and soak up the sunshine and fresh air. Below, you’ll find my 10 favorite ways to find zen on the weekend.
